Mirror, Mirror

I used to write poetry on a regular basis. It has been a while since poetry has flowed naturally. I was at a work conference this past weekend. The last night, before I headed home, I went to God to reflect on the blessings from the weekend that were a result from blessings over the past year. In my hotel room, there was an interesting wall decoration of multiple mirrors. While I was praying, I looked at the mirrors hanging on the wall. The thought came to me how we look in the mirror, and often don’t think positive things about ourselves. I have often asked God to help me see myself the way he sees me and have prayed that over my loved ones as well. I felt the overwhelming urge to write. So, I did.

The next morning, I saw that the YouVersion Verse of the Day was Ephesians 2:10, which not only is one of my favorite verses but was a part of the above poem. I decided to create this image with the verse and the mirror decoration from the hotel room:

Three reflections to remember:
1. Reflect on the blessings from the day.
2. Reflect on who God says you are.
3. Reflect God’s love and image to those around you!

No longer let the enemy win over your heart and mind. Defeat his lies with the truth that you are loved, chosen, forgiven, and never alone!

Daughter of the King, which makes me a Princess in God's Kingdom! I am also a wife to an incredibly sweet and goofy man of God. I am a social worker by trade and compassionate servant to help in the healing of mind and spirit through God's gifts to me and connecting vulnerable people to the source of HOPE and LOVE, Jesus Christ! I love to write, sing, color/draw/paint, take photos of nature and capture moments of joy in life. I am passionate about the mental health and overall well-being of children, teens, and young adults because I know what it is like to struggle through life and faith in dark times. Looking forward to providing this blog as a source of light that Christ has so graciously given me to shine to represent him! The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. -John 1:5 NLT
