Each day we have choices to make.
Where will I go?
What will I do?
Some days we have planned ahead but often even those plans don’t always play out as we imagined.
We may be determined to go in a certain direction, but ultimately that may not be the best route to take.
Detours may come where God is lovingly attempting to redirect us.
We may be tempted to react in frustration and in some cases even defiance.
We want to go our own way even if we are being advised against doing so.
God puts up signs to let us know that we’re not supposed to go this way or even completely block off the road.
He doesn’t keep us stuck though. He makes another way for us to avoid the danger ahead.
When we face road blocks and detours, they aren’t just inconveniences.
They are a way of protecting us from being involved in wreckage or the path is being reconstructed and not ready for us to go down quite yet.
God often has us go another direction to protect us because he knows our hearts better than we do.
He knows what will keep us aligned with him.
Just like he knew that the Israelites wouldn’t have been able to remain faithful if they went the faster route to the promised land. God knows when we need to be redirected as well.
Then there are other times on our journey where we approach a crossroads.
We have 2 options to take. Sometimes the choice may be obvious of what will please God. Every now and then though, we have a choice to make where either turn wouldn’t be a “bad” decision but a decision has to be made.
In those situations, ask yourself, “Which direction or choice gives me the most peace?”
Don’t confuse this with “which way would be easier?” Because growth doesn’t come from inside your comfort zone.
In this follow your heart world we live in, be set apart as you were created to be and seek counsel from the one and only Holy Spirit
Don’t walk in your feelings of what seems right. Follow the nudge from your faith to do as you are called.
Be strong and courageous knowing God is with you every step of the way!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
